Rowan Wyeth

Why, hello there! I’m Rowan, and I write Middle Grade and YA Fantasy & Adventure. I live in a small community in Northern California where hiking the golden hills is an easy hop, skip and a jump out my door.

If I could, I would spend most of my day reading books. My favorite book is “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien. I have read it thousands of times and it a source of inspiration for me to this day. “The Hobbit”  shows me how to act with nobility and honor like Thorin Oakenshield, and encourages me to step out of my comfort zone as Bilbo does, and to help those who can’t help themselves and guide those who can like Gandalf, my personal favorite character.

I read all sorts of books including fantasy, science fiction, popular science and classics. Fiction allows me to exist in a world where dragons are real, elves walk the earth, and magic is around every corner, where ordinary people can really be heroes.

Reading is a part of my identity and has opened worlds to me. I’ve contemplated my mortality and place in the universe.  It has given me empathy for the human race and shown me how little we know.  Reading has inspired and enabled me to create a fantasy world that celebrates the quiet strength, friendship, and perseverance of “The First Hero”.

Currently I am working on a collection of short stories that can be read independent of a campaign or as inspiration for a campaign. For more information on the short ‘campaign style’ stories click the link below.
